Players to Watch on Chelsea

Eden Hazard

A right-footed, creative player, Hazard plays as an attacking midfielder or left forward in a 4-3-3 allowing him to cut inside and shoot or pass. A great playmaker, passer of the ball, dribbler and finisher, he has a low center of gravity and rarely loses possession while dribbling. The only way defenders can stop him is by hacking him down or fouling him. He is the captain of the Belgium National team and led the team to a 3rd place finish at the 2018 World Cup. Hazard is a two-time Premier League winner and a Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player of the Year (PFA Player of the Year).  Watch Hazard play if you want to watch one of the most exciting players in the league.

The 3-man midfield in a  4-3-3 is often played with 3 of these 4 types of center midfielders: an attacking midfielder, a defensive midfielder, a box-to-box midfielder or a deep-lying playmaker.

Jorginho

A deep-lying playmaker (center midfielder) with great vision on the field and excellent passing accuracy, Jorginho is not the most physically impressive player, but he has the tactical smarts and ability to read the game to intercept passes. He often dictates the tempo of play and only takes 1 or 2 touches before passing the ball.  After winning the ball, he is the player who tends to start the counterattack. When other players are in trouble or cannot move the ball forward, he usually plays the ball to switch the field or pass back. His playing style has been compared to great players like Andrea Pirlo and Xavi. He has recently been called up to the Italian National team.
