Welcome to Teach Yourself Soccer

Separate Yourself from the Rest!

Players from as young as six years old to starting varsity high school players have improved their skills with our videos. The ability to master the ball and have it do what you want it to do is the difference between good soccer players and great soccer players. Some people think that great soccer players are born with their abilities, but great soccer players practice, drill, and rehearse. Great soccer players use all parts of their feet and have excellent first touch skills. Great soccer players use fake and feint moves to score more goals. Great soccer players can challenge 1 v 1 and break down defenses. Learn our techniques and moves today.

How to Teach Yourself a New Move

Pick 5 moves to add to your inventory of moves. Be sure to pick moves that will allow you to change your direction: forward or back, left or right. Your moves should allow you to move in any direction around you - forward to back, 180 degrees, 90 degrees to the right, 45 degrees to the right, etc. Practice with both feet. If your right foot is your stronger foot, practice with your left foot twice before practicing with your right foot.  Be sure to start slowly; walk through the move while keeping the ball still. Then, walk through the move with ball movement. Lastly, increase your speed to 25%, then 50%, then 75%, then finally 100%, or game-related speed. You must practice, drill, and rehearse to improve.
